President’s Message

Dear HCTE Family,

Fall has made its’ arrival and we slowly watch nature take it’s rest. Change is all around us in our attire, home decor, activities and appetite. Similarly we see scurrying squirrels collecting their provisions and hear birds gathering in trees making plans to leave the soon coming winter. Yet, to our comfort, we rest assured that our Heavenly Father never changes. His caring eyes are still upon us. With loving arms always opened to strengthen us when we are weak and catch us when we fall. We have His peace that others can’t understand through the teachings of Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. It is with this joy that HCTE continues to grow and give. This year our efforts and events have been coupled with raising funds to support the foriegn mission work of Youth in Action. Your donations add to what has been raised and provides a substantial donation for these young people who have dedicated their service to others. Thank you for helping us “Make a Difference.” Click the donate button to share.

Now You Know

The Houston Metropolitan Baptist Ministers Conference (HMBMC) was established in 1933 by 32 pastors who served throughout the Houston, Texas area. HMBMC elected Dr. Samuel J. Gilbert Sr., as their first president. In 2014, Dr. Samuel J. Gilbert, II was installed and inaugurated as the new president bringing vision for another generation of preachers and pastors. He and our president, Dr. Hines became friends in ministry and community efforts. From that friendship Dr. Gilbert and the HMBMC offered support to HCTE vision with a $1000 donation to the A.J. Hines Scholars Award 2024 campaign, Dr. Gilbert providing opportunity to Dr. Hines to share HCTE events during the HMBMC annual meetings. Dr. Gilbert was the closing speaker at the HCTE Cohort Program: The Comparative of Peter and Paul. We are tremendously grateful that Dr. Gilbert, II and HMBMC partner in service with HCTE.
